The jail has a variety of programs that help inmates gain employment and get their lives back on track after their release. Among them are a job training program, a computer center where inmates can access educational and vocational courses, a job fair where inmates can connect with employers and find jobs, and a re-entry program that helps former offenders build self-esteem and gain employment. The jail is home to the Sheriff’s Inmate Work Force, a group of non-violent minimum custody level inmates who perform landscaping, maintenance on town and county parks and waterways, minor construction, painting, and other various duties. This group saves the county thousands of dollars in fines and fees each year by performing these tasks.
